Our Commitment
Yeovil Car Pool is a co-operative community interest company, set up to help its members save money, gainaccess green transport and enjoy high quality motoring.
We have three unpaid directors, plus a part-time development worker. All of us strongly believe that the car pool, or car club as it’s sometimes known, is a transport solution for the 21st Century, combining environmental benefits with more efficient car use.
Why a Car Pool?
The average private car is actually being driven for only 4% of the time. So 96% of the time it’s sitting on your drive or outside the office, not being used. Yet you’re still having to pay out for insurance, depreciation and road tax.
Being shared by several members, a pool car is on the road more often. And as a member, it gives you the option of a more flexible transport mix - you can walk, cycle or use public transport, knowing that you’re not paying out for a car that isn’t being used!
Our Cars
You need a reliable, clean and modern car, and that’s what we offer. Yeovil Car Pool cars are safe, easy to drive and fuel-efficient. All we ask is that you drive responsibly, and leave the car neat and clean for the next user.
Most car pools offer small hatchbacks, but we also have a family-friendly Vauxhall Zafira people-carrier. With up to seven seats available, this is great for days out for the kids, big shops and extended families. It’s also a turbo-diesel, so very good on fuel.
All our cars have full breakdown/recovery insurance from ETA - the Environmental Transport Association.
